We are living through a pivotal moment in history. As a growing call for change takes place across the nation, you may be left wondering what you can do to build more inclusive communities within your organization and to provide sustained support for underrepresented groups. In this session we will provide strategies for developing and facilitating diversity and inclusion training initiatives. This overview will include an introduction to interactive group activities, third party training resources, readings for continued learning, and more.

Learning Outcomes

After attending this workshop attendees will be able to:

Evaluate how various identities influence our sense of inclusion.
Describe how different identities influence the assumptions and reactions of others.
Describe elements needed for building an inclusive community.
Identify environmental challenges leading to feelings of exclusion.
Utilize active bystander techniques to address negative assumptions and stereotypes.
Leverage provided resources to design training initiatives tailored to their team or organizational needs.
