Attracting, Developing & Retaining Diverse Candidates

in Technical Leadership Positions

Join us on May 19th as LaQuanda Hoskins, Manager of Maintenance and Reliability at Domtar Paper’s Plymouth Mill, discusses her journey as a Black woman in the Reliability and Maintenance profession with over 20 years’ experience in the manufacturing arena.

The business case for diversity and inclusion will be presented from her personal and professional experiences throughout her career working in a male dominated industry.  She relates her experiences and provides insight on how companies can attract, develop, and retain women and minority candidates in a field where this can be very challenging.

Presented by LaQuanda Hoskins

LaQuanda Hoskins is currently the Maintenance & Engineering Manager at Domtar Paper in Plymouth North Carolina.  LaQuanda started her career over 20 years ago working as a mechanical engineer in the Automotive Industry.  Since that time, she has garnered several manufacturing experiences in multiple industries ranging from automotive, aluminum manufacturing, and now the pulp and paper industry. Her manufacturing roles changed with increasing responsibilities across the functions of engineering, maintenance, operations, and quality.

LaQuanda has a strong technical background which started with her undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering and has strengthened over the last 20 years with her experiences in the industrial manufacturing field.  In addition, LaQuanda also possesses a Master’s in Business Administration, which has worked well to help tie her technical background and experiences to managing the business aspects and driving business results.

LaQuanda is married to Cecil Hoskins and they share in the delight of raising 2 very active daughters, Kayla (7 yrs old) and Kaci (4 yrs old).  They currently reside in Greenville, NC where they enjoy supporting the local college sporting events as well as traveling and spending family time at the beach.  When not working to keep up with the girls' activities, in her spare time LaQuanda enjoys reading, gardening, shopping, and vacationing.
