The ATD Mississippi Valley Chapter's Fall Conference is designed to provide you with opportunities to learn more about current trends, build your professional network, and to introduce you to ideas to enhance your present approach to training.

KEYNOTE


Dr. Amy Novak

Amy C. Novak, EdD, became the 14th president of St. Ambrose University in 2021. She has prioritized finding new and innovative models teaching and learning as we enter a new era of work. She regularly partners with community leaders to address employer needs, highlighted the past two years via St. Ambrose's annual Innovation Summit. This past year the event attracted 120 business leaders from the Quad Cities and throughout the Midwest with the goal of identifying new curricular approaches and teaching practices that will best prepare SAU students for the next generation of work. 

Dr. Novak earned a Doctor of Education degree in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University in 2014, a Master of Science in Social and Applied Economics from Wright State University in 1997, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Notre Dame in 1993.

This begs the question, how are you creating workplace environments to help your people thrive? Emerging Leaders is a United Way donor network of young business, creative and philanthropist leaders who work together to solve big community problems. As tomorrow's community leaders and as the most influential generation in America, QC Emerging Leaders will set the standard for generations to come. This session will focus on lessons learned from the program, as well as steps you can tatke to work toward building and enhancing environments that will attract the leaders of tomorrow.

What's Chat Got to Do with It: Exploring AI Software to Streamline Training

This past year, terms like Chat GPT and Generative AI have been all the rage. Regardless of if you've explored this technology, it's already influencing the way you interact with search engines, voice systems, and more. In this interactive session, you'll engage in roundtable discussions and activities to explore the capabilities of this technology that may help speed up the pace of development for new L&D initiatives and perhaps shed light on opportunities expand upon current offerings.
