Training from A to Z
Session One: Needs Analysis
This year, we’re focusing on the building blocks of Training and Development. This session marks the first in a four-part series, where we’ll explore each stage of the process: beginning with Needs Analysis, then moving into Designing Training, Delivering Training, and finally Evaluating Training. This series will guide you through that journey—from questioning assumptions to building meaningful, results-driven training strategies. Each session is valuable on its own if you are not able to attend the entire series.
Whether you’ve been training for years or are just a few months into the journey, this series is designed to offer fresh perspectives, practical ideas, and actionable insights to support your growth. No matter your level of experience, there’s always an opportunity to refine how we approach learning and development.
We begin our first session with a fundamental question: Do we really need training, or do we need something else? In other words, is training always the answer? Before jumping into solutions, it’s important to pause and understand the true need. Performing a needs analysis doesn’t have to be complex—it can start with simply asking the right questions. By doing so, we can better identify gaps, clarify goals, and ensure that any training provided is both relevant and effective.
This is a great learning opportunity for members and non-members. Following the presentation, there will be time to socialize. Appetizers will be provided, and there will be a cash bar available.
